What standard size bodies do you offer?

ToughLite bodies come in standard 12’, 14’, and 16’ sizes. Custom sizes are available upon request.

What does the typical ToughLite body weigh?

The body weight depends on the size, but the standard sizes fall within the range of 1,000-1,250 pounds. For custom sizes, the weight will vary.

How much does a ToughLite body weigh in comparison to competitive bodies?

We’re dedicated to creating the best, lightweight solutions for fleet managers. ToughLite bodies weigh at least 30% less than competitors’ bodies.

What are ToughLite bodies made of?

ToughLite bodies are engineered out of durable, lightweight aluminum and insulated composite.

How are ToughLite bodies built?

ToughLite bodies are assembled and installed at our 100,000 sq. ft. plant in Minnesota.

What door options do you offer?

Your ToughLite body will have a back door and side doors, each with different options.

For back doors: Choose between rollup or swing versions.

For side doors: Get the standard swing version or request a custom sliding version.

Do you offer a cutaway option?

How durable is a ToughLite body?

ToughLite bodies are engineered for durability. All components are non-corrosive and the kit construction makes ToughLite more structurally sound than the average upfit.

What is the typical lifespan of a ToughLite body?

The lifespan depends on the chassis and how much use it gets. The typical lifespan falls in the range of 4-10 years.

For heavy-duty use, our clients see 4-6 years. We’ve also seen smaller businesses get an additional 4-5 years of use out of them.

How do ToughLite bodies help reduce maintenance costs?

ToughLite bodies help reduce maintenance costs in several ways.

1. It reduces weight which reduces wear-and-tear on the vehicle.

2. It uses 40% fewer parts than the average truck body.

3. All of the components are non-corrosive which increases the lifespan.

4. The rear-door is made of non-corrosive aluminum.

How does ToughLite save fleet time?

Lighter weight trucks move faster and are subject to fewer weigh station requirements. Additionally the lower maintenance requirements keep your truck on the road as much as possible.

INSTALLATION & REPAIR

How easy is it to install a ToughLite body?

Installation of a ToughLite requires purpose-built fixtures, specialized tooling, and overhead cranes. Our manufacturing plant, experienced technicians, and robust quality control process ensure your vehicles are safe for the long haul.

What is the turnaround time to install?

On standard sized bodies, it can be as low as 2-4 weeks. Purpose-built bodies can take 16-18 weeks, depending on design. Typical competitors require more time in conventional bodies due to labor intensive designs. With the investment in standard body inventory, ToughLite is able to install faster.

How long will it take to get the body once purchased?

That depends on the quantity. If you’re purchasing over 10 vehicles, you won’t qualify for Quick Ship which means a 16-18 week turnaround.

If you’re purchasing fewer than 5 vehicles and inventory levels are good, Quick Ship allows for a 2-4 week turnaround.

If I don’t want to have the ToughLite body installed at your Minnesota facility, can it be shipped and installed with a local installer?

Currently all ToughLite's are installed in Minnesota and shipped nationwide.

How easy is it to install graphics and how will they look?

+

All panels are smooth on the outside, so it is easy to install graphics that look even better than standard bodies. It also takes 3 hours less to wrap a ToughLite body compared to competitive bodies which leads to cost savings for you.

If the body is damaged, how would I get it repaired?

Aluminum profiles can be replaced if damaged. Typical damage can be repaired at any body shop because they have the fiberglass components.

What vehicle types can these be installed on?

Our ToughLite bodies can be installed on all of the major truck manufacturers including Ford, GM, RAM, and Mercedes and a variety of wheel base sizes. You can find a complete breakdown here.

Is the ToughLite body best suited for certain applications?

ToughLite is designed to meet a variety of challenges in many different industries, and it works particularly well in metro areas with tight driving conditions such as last mile delivery.

Why is it such a good choice for EV?

The lighter weight ToughLite body enables a fleet to offset the added weight of the EV batteries so you can retain your desired payload without increasing total vehicle weight. Additionally you get extended mileage-per-charge due to lower overall weight.
