The shortest version of our story is this: ToughLite evolved from customer needs. Our lightweight, durable body is not a knee-jerk response to the current economic conditions…it’s tried and proven.

Back in 2017, long before the current vehicle shortages, higher gas prices and EV requirements, Surefitters discovered a customer need for improved efficiency and profitability. Fleet managers wanted the ability to deliver the same payload in a lighter weight vehicle to reduce the costs associated with inspections and weight regulations.

At the time, the Surefitters team attended a global tradeshow and became intrigued with the light-weighting technology commonly used in Europe. In terms of economy and efficiency, European standards and regulations are years ahead. Learning from and adopting some of their advancements allowed us to blaze a new trail here in the U.S., providing exceptional light- weighting and efficiency for fleet vehicles.

Expert Engineering and Assembly in the U.S.A.

By engineering and continually enhancing our ToughLite bodies here in the U.S., we can address the unique challenges and needs of domestic commercial fleets. We carefully curate each component from only the most trusted, dependable suppliers. Our facility is fully equipped to assemble, install, and upfit your fleet with ToughLite bodies in house. Alternatively, your fleet’s ToughLite bodies can be shipped as a ready-to-assemble kit to one of our installer partners or to an installer of your choice throughout the U.S.

When it comes to sourcing components, we’ll only work with the best. While all engineering, and most assembly, installation, and upfitting occurs in our Minnesota facility or at our vendor partners, our supplies are hand-picked from high quality manufacturers in the US, Europe, and Canada.
